Spierfonds young talent symposium

Registration is now open!

The Spierfonds young talent symposium (formerly known as Muscles2Meet) is a biennial event designed for all PhD students working on neuromuscular diseases in the Netherlands, to get to know each other and the research field. The program is made by an organization committee of PhD students. The next edition will take place on June 7th-8th 2024.

All neuromuscular PhD students working in The Netherlands are invited, so please help us spread the word about the Spierfonds young talent symposium!

The program

Friday:

A keynote lecture by prof. dr. Bert Smeets, Maastricht UMC+.
An insight into research from a patient’s perspective.
Parallel sessions about AI ethics in healthcare, patient participation and different aspects of a career in science.
Two interactive discussion sessions to get to know each other and discuss a neuromuscular career.
A dinner and informal evening program, followed by an overnight stay.

Saturday:

Workshops on career development.

– Let your voice be heard: Knowing what you want – getting what you need
– Negotiation in your PhD: Know what you’re aiming for
– Poster design: Share what you know
A keynote by Dennis Luyt, former commander in the Royal Netherlands Air Force; What can we learn from people with a different perspective?

You can register online. After registration we will debit the registration fee from your bank account.

Registration deadline: Tuesday April 30th
Registration fee: early registration € 70,- (before March 29th), late registration € 85,-
The registration fee includes an overnight stay and is nonrefundable
